Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Tooth Relic)

The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is one of the renowned place of worship. This was recognized as a world heritage by UNESCO in 1988. The temple which carries a lot of value to Buddhists. The best time to visit the place is during the time which daily rituals are performed for the Sacred Tooth Relic is called “Theva” or Services. Those time slots are in early Morning Service from 5.30am.to 7.00 a.m., Mid-Day Service from 9.30 am. To 11.00 am. and the Evening Service from 6.30 pm To 8.00 p.m It also includes traditional sound offerings during this time. So it is preferred to wear a white dress when visiting is place as it is a religious place of Buddhist people whole over the world.
