Ella

Ella is a perfect travelling destination in Sri Lanka that sense a super friendly people, a huge diversity of nature and incredible food. There are some places to add into your list to visit in Ella.

Mini Adams peak

This is the closest and easiest hike in Ella. This is situated 2km away from Ella Namunukula Road and many foreign and local tourists prefer to hike and trail along this mountain. You would absolutely love the experience throughout the journey. The view from the summit are incredible and can get 360 degrees panoramic views with clouds rolling in. It is 1141 m in height and from the entrance it takes up to 30-45 min for the hike.

Ella Rock

Ella rock is of the place that you can get some dashing panoramic views in Sri Lanka. Hence this should be on your bucket list. This sounds like a long journey but it is about 4 hours of total time for climbing up and down. The way up to the rock is with full of diversity as soon as you started climbing up, you will be passing a waterfall, the rubber tree forest and tea plantations.

Nine Arch Bridge

The glorious Nine Arch Bridge between Ella and Demodara train stations is one of the engineering marvels in the early 20th century. The best time to be there is when the train is passing. So it is better to check the train schedule before you starts your journey.

Ravana falls

Ravana Falls is another must visit in Ella. The falls is a part of the Ravana Ella Wildlife Sanctuary, and is located 6 km away from Ella Railway station. Hill country of Sri Lanka is quite popular for beautiful waterfalls and Ravana Falls is right at the top.

Watawala tea state

This is a village in Sri Lanka that is located within the Central Province. The train journey from Ella to Kandy falls via this beautiful village along with tea plantation through Sri Lanka's Hill Country. This takes about 6-7 hours in total. For sure this will be a greatest train journeys in the world.
